# Import an existing project

> Bring an existing AI-generated or conventional project into P2HS.

P2HS supports source import workflows for projects created outside the platform when the source satisfies the current project intake and adoption rules.

## Before you import

* Keep the source repository free of credentials and committed secret files.
* Identify the build command and expected runtime.
* Confirm which backend behavior is already present and which behavior should be provided by P2HS.
* Prepare a project-level description of the desired capabilities and integrations.

## Import flow

<Steps>
  <Step title="Upload or connect the source">
    Start the project import flow and provide the source through the supported import path.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review discovery">
    Review detected project structure, framework information, and any readiness or fidelity feedback.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Adopt the project">
    Confirm the project configuration and source authority before starting a build or composition change.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Build and preview">
    Run validation, inspect the generated revision, and create a preview before production deployment.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Import does not make P2HS the owner of credentials already present in a repository. Rotate any credential that may have been committed before connecting the project.
